Located in Columbia’s historic Congaree Vista area, Ristorante Divino was opened by Fulvio Valsecchi over 16 years ago. Currently under the new ownership of Chef Mike Deevey, Chef Bertrand Gilli and Chef Henry Griffin, Ristorante Divino offers an intimate fine dining atmosphere with award winning, creative Italian cuisine.

Chef Mike Deevey, once Executive Chef to Governor Sanford at the SC Governor’s Mansion, was trained at Johnson and Wales University. Mike’s passion for preparing classic dishes with a unique twist can best be exemplified through his previous experience as chef at The Windermere Club, Jasmine and Carolina Yacht Club. Mike has also previously served as chef at Ristorante Divino and is excited to bring you a fresh twist on all of your favorite menu items.

Originally from France, Chef Bertrand Gilli was classically trained at Ferrandi Culinary Institute, Paris, France. Chef Bertrand spent many hours in the kitchen with his Italian grandmother perfecting his marinara sauce and classic Caesar dressing. In the US, Bertrand has also served as a personal chef and as Sous chef at Momo’s Bistro and Rosso Trattoria. In France he has served as Sous Chef at Le Crillion, L’ourcine, Chez maman and La Canaille.

A Columbia native, Chef Henry Griffin has served as Chef at many of Columbia’s favorite restaurants: Gervais & Vine, Rosso Trattoria, Hunter Gatherer, Meritage, Motor Supply and Vista Brewing Company. Throughout his career, Henry has concentrated on serving the most fresh, local ingredients by partnering with area farms. Henry’s unique and creative daily specials are a definite must try at Ristorante Divino.

The chef/owners and their staff welcome you to Ristorante Divino and hope you enjoy your dining experience here.
